A good way to know if you're on the path to success is to ask yourself, is what I'm doing today what the early George Clooney (or whomever your hero is) was doing?
Will my friends and I Get Super Mega famous? (Keep in mind we already know we will be)
|
Yes! You'll make a Youtube video about drive by kisses & peanut butter and the peanut butter company will pay to make it an advetisement & a talent scout will find you.
Or how else? How are you going to do what famous people have done?
Or are you too chicken?

Perhaps the hardest lesson in life is to realize that we as humans have all kinds of ways to fool ourselves. But it's not impossible to figure it out. Keep a diary to help your memory: is what you're doing really working to make you happy? Here's a card on that.
Are "one night stands" beneficial at all?
|
No. If you think you can give yourself to someone & not care to ever see them again, you are fooling yourself.
Sex is all about giving to someone in a caring way.

I've got a big business meeting tomorrow, one that may put my high-tech business on top for the first time since I founded it in 2006. So this may be my last month of hardship in my chosen bohemian life running a company. Things rarely turn out exactly as we hope -- they are typically not nearly as good as we wish and not nearly as bad as we fear. This time it will be as good as I hope, I hope. :)
What do you think is the most important thing in life?
<3 PEACE :)
|
There's practically nothing you fear in your gut that has substance in reality when you think on it using your head.

Keeping my answers to a small card forces me to condense, which is quite a challenge when I'm going through a stack of 100 late at night. Do you see something missing from this card? It's financial stress, something I allude to and then don't follow up on. I heard on the radio recently that people who make a lot of money aren't any happier than people who earn $70,000. But happiness decreases below that income.
Why can't people just get along?
|
Most people would do just fine dropped into a colony of mature, well-adjusted, middle class people.
But in the real world, most of us are put off-balance by a few bad apples. It's easier to lash out when you're surrounded by people who tear you down, and you discover that giving to others doesn't result in being given back to. Frustration & shame make people irritable & it spreads like a disease.

What is the meaning of Life?
|
Every time you meet anyone is an opportunity to change two lives: theirs & yours.
Be open to possibilities & you will make your own luck!

I'm pro having kids. But the decision to have children is full of myths and assumptions, even more so than marriage. A good rule of thumb is to ask, "If I hadn't gotten accidentally pregnant, would I be seeking a child right now?" It's advice that applies to all kinds of accidental opportunities, like a surprise promotion that requires you to move far away. Here's a card on that.
Is this baby right for me?
What do I do?
|
Talk with people, both those who have kept the baby & those who haven't. Make a plan for your life.
A baby does bring joy, but it also makes it very hard to get ahead.
Call Planned Parenthood & get a sense of your options. Are you centered, happy in life, emotionally rock solid, with a stable financial life & no desire to change the world or leap dramatically ahead in the next 8 years? If so a baby may work. If not, maybe not.

I know your secret. You're not afraid. You're not in a rut. You haven't lost your innocence. It's just stylish -- and deliciously freeing from responsibility -- to think yourself that way. Here's a card on that.
How can one find their innocence again?
|
Innocence is looking at the stars, or flowers & feeling awe.
Go to a playground & watch kids laugh.
Innocence is believing yourself to be good. Vow to avoid past mistakes.
That makes a new you. You're free to dislike the old you but love the new!
Innocence is having bad instincts & beign overwhelmed by fear or love.
You don't want that again.

Here's an example of why I recently reshot all my favorite cards (about 10%).
I'm a good person & always do for others. So then how come I can never seem to get ahead in life, but all the people around me who hurt or use people get what they want?

It's an illusion.
Some people get lucky, but most people who are trouble have terrible conflict & failure in life. They just don't show it.
You can increase your luck by being selective. Give to the people who give back, & don't be permissive about giving to anyone (friend, family, co-worker, lover) who takes you for granted.

This week I got the final final draft of the Wheel Questions book printed and out in the mail to my agent! So it's out of my hands for now as they go out to potential publishers. It's good to have a break.
I love how this asker wants to be a pirate but signs the question with "peace and much love". :)
If I were to become a Pirate how can I get a boat (not buy) it. I think the life of a pirate is the shit.
Peace and much love
|
Yes, it's great fun to sail the high seas, killing, raping, and stealing, with uneducated murderers for your mates, always running from the law and living under a tyrannical pirate captain. If that's your goal, stealing a ship should be easy. How about the USS Constitution?

The Universal Record Database has awarded me 5 world records now for the Wheel Questions project. Here's an example of what I answer when I'm given very little information to work with!
Who am I?
|
You are Captain Awesome!!
Try to get people to call you that.
