I took my best friend and his family to an amusement park yesterday for his birthday. That was my magic for the week. :)

Are there really fairies?

There are no tiny woodland creatures called fairies, but there are millions of amazing & astonishing species of animal!

Some are cute like fairies.

Some have wings.

Some are even pretty intelligent.

You don't have to resort to fantasy to find magic in the world.

This is yet another of the "lost cards". Today I went re-tagged everything in the daily blog archive so that the categories make more sense. Take a peek at the The Wheel Questions Archive.

is there such a thing as FATE?

No. The person most responsible for your future is you, and while you can't control life completely, if you're alert, you can spot trouble coming & run away, and spot opportunities to chase!

You "make" your own luck!

The idea that people should give back to you is a nice one, but you have to take charge of it rather than just hope it will happen. Choose your friends wisely.

Do you Believe in Karma?

I'm sorry, but karma is just wishful thinking & our ability to see patterns in anything.

Do good things follow good, & bad things follow bad? Well, flip a coin 100 times & you'll see plenty of streaks of heads & streaks of tails. It's just random. What's controlling your life is you & give only to those who give back!

I've finally edited and posted a video interview from 2009. It's four short segments. See that and other photos and videos from the 2009 Wheel Questions at www.WheelQuestions.org/v. Please rate & comment!

Will my wedded life be magical?

No.

Don't overidealize marriage.

That leads to your taking it for granted, which leads to divorce.

You both have to make "the magic" with romantic gifts or notes or calling to say hi or outings. The magic doesn't just "come" or "go". Now get to it!

Is reincarnation real?

It's such a compellingn fantasy that life goes on after death that people really want to believe in it. But wanting something doesn't make it true, which is why I don't live with a harem of supermodels who all think they were once Cleopatra in a past life.

Reincarnation is just plain silly, and shame on the con-artists who try to tell you they know your other lives.

Does everything really happen for a reason?

PS: this is the coolest thing ive ever seen :)

I'm sorry, but no.

It feels weird that the moon doesn't fall, because our feelings are an "inner chimp" that comes from our primate ancestors.

But feeling it doesn't make it true.

The moon doesn't fall. It's in orbit.

It also doesn't feel right that things don't happen for a reason.

So what? Who put our feelings in charge of the ultimate truth of reality?

I was speaking with someone this week and was inspired to put this up on the Web. It's a prank I did for my then girlfriend in 2008. We had just seen the play As You Like It at the Free Shakespeare event in Boston Common. In the play, one of the jokes is that Orlando is so lovestruck that he wanders around the forest hanging up bad poetry.

So I made these signs and hung them along the route that my girlfriend would take to come visit me. See the Wheel Questions backstage blog. I guarantee it will make you laugh! :)

Are horoscopes true?!?!

(I often wonder...)

They're completely false!

The reason they seem true is they're so vague. They could apply to anyone, & wishful thinking does the rest. For example, if I told you that you'd lose sleep worrying about someone special, so what? We all do that, & if you happen not to, well, people tend to forget how horoscopes are wrong.

I had a design meeting today with Kyle Sturgeon on the architecture for the new Wheel. We will have it up by June 13 at the Cambridge River Festival, possibly sooner!

WHY DO I KEEP HAVING CRAPPY DREAMS EVEN THOUGH MY LIFE IS PRETTY STABLE?

Dreams are like that, unfortunately. I think we remember more of the bad ones because they cause us to wake up.

Maybe you're having plenty of soothing dreams that you don't remember.

How do fortune-tellers know if they're telling the truth?

<3

They know they're not.

You can't be a good fortune teller without being a good deceiver. The practice should be outlawed.

Magical powers don't exist and the person responsible for your future is you. What do you want to change in your life? Find a friend & make a plan you can start this week.

You have to make the future.

What dreams do you have and can you make a plan for the future that you can start this week?

Somebody has to be the best. It might as well be you.

So get out there & do it!

Is there any way to fix bad luck?

-PAC

You can't control the entire world and bad things may happen. But there's no such thing as fate or having bad luck. Learn to control what you can. Be on the lookout for possible bad things you can avoid & possible good things you can take advantage of. The more self confidence you build & awareness of what makes you happy, the easier it gets.

A couple of months ago, somebody asked me when the first snowfall would be. I believe I said December 6! I can't find the card, though, in the online archives. Today it was snowing! I guess that just proves that good predictions happen by chance sometimes and we musn't attribute oracular powers to those who make lucky guesses.

why does it feel as though god has a vendetta against me and that I have bad luck?

How do I help myself to become less self conscious, especially in terms of finding a guy who will love me for me, and enough so that I wont need to seek a boy's love out?

The key is confidence.

Back away from relationships, obligations, and habits that drain you. Each liberating step you take, you will feel more energy & confidence. This allows you to extract yourself a little more & gives you the energy & knowledge of what genuinely makes you happy so you can say no to those who aren't good to you & be attractive to others.

Go on one date a week & keep at it!

I'm trying to apply for an arts grant to create an Abyss site somewhere public, like Boston Common, or a mall, or school grounds, or a museum. Would someone who knows anything about that get in touch? I'm at johnny@wheelquestions.org

When people say they "know" the answer about God, that sounds like hubris to me. How can anybody really say they know anything about the unknowable? I have a lot of feelings... like the feeling I should eat all the ice cream I can see. Since when does my feeling about God have anything to do with the truth? Who made me the expert? Or you? Here's a card about that.

At what point in human history did it cease to be common for a rational adult to believe in monsters?

Since 68% of Americans believe that Satan is real, I guess not yet.

There's a great deal of confusion with religious believers between what we want to be true & what we "feel" or wish to be true. My heart's led me astray in love too many times to trust it on God.

If I don't see the futere will I see the past?

Kayla

Don't worry if you can't clearly see the future.

Everything is better withi practice & planning.

Make a list of life goals.

The first one should be "love myself & worry less"! :)
