Last night, I went to see a movie with my best friend, and on the way out, we passed actor Michael Cera coming in... presumably to speak at a special preview.

So I say to Rick, "Hey! That was Michael Cera!"

Rick says, "Who?"

I try to explain who Michael Cera is, to be met with complete dispassion on his part.

So I talk to his son, who's 15. But he too has no idea and doesn't care.

I went on like this for a while before I figure out they were dicking with me. :)

Why?? Because sometimes it's more fun to torture your best friend than to say, "Yea, I saw him too. Cool!"

Why?

This is one of the most frequent questions I get. Finally I think I have a worthy answer.

why?

Sometimes there is no why. Sometimes people make mistakes. Sometimes trouble just happens. But people are often generous, and happy accidents happen too. Of course you fixate on problems, so you can fix them. But look around you. Freedom, wealth, health, technology have never been greater. Look around, and smile. :) <3 <3 Want daily inspiration? WHY?

People make mistakes. Accidents happen. There's no hidden reason behind the world, but it's a good place. Choose your friends & your environment so that the good things you do get rewarded. And don't go crazy overanalyzing -- when something seems wrong & irrational, it probably is and people & life are like that sometimes.
